DANCE FOR FREEDOM! Update

The special week of dance events to raise awareness of sex trafficking (see below) provided a lot of buzz across the city of Rome! The dancers arrived direct from Bucharest following a very full week of ministry activities there. Unfortunately Mikaela landed in Rome with a feverish virus, which sent her to languish in bed for 2.5 days. Despite this blow, she joined Mackenzie for a riveting, powerful  performance Thursday night, for an enthusiastic crowd in the theater. They did a repeat performance on Friday night. During a Q & A time after the show, the dancers first shared from their experience in Romania, as well as their personal motivation for creating and performing on this issue as springing from their faith in a God who loves, heals, and sets captives free. Audience members then could express their reactions to what they saw; saying how deeply moved and impressed they were. Most of the audience were men and women from a non-Christian, secular worldview, however their response was extremely positive. They clearly heard and saw a message of hope from despair and freedom from captivity. A journalist from the worldwide broadcast from Rome, "Vatican Radio," asked them for a interview, which you can listen to here. This is probably the first time evangelical Christians are invited to clearly testify on Vatican Radio!

What's more, the dancers led some college students in a dance ministry workshop, and several of us in a flash mob on different piazza's. The young adults involved were so appreciative of these professional artists filled with passion to express God's truth through their art.

Mikaela and Mackenzie also joined our team on a prayer walk along the boulevards where the "treasures" are (women and girls in prostitution). Tis helped us prepare spiritually for our outreaches this month.
