A God-Given Opportunity

Thanks to a providential connection in our city, I've been given a unique opportunity to speak to a secular audience of God's justice and to witness to His grace and power to change lives. Having watched the film "Nefarious: Merchant of Souls" at our public event last year, a young leader in the Rotary Club felt compelled to organize another screening on behalf of all the Clubs in Rome. He went one step further and arranged for a panel of 5 leaders who are dealing with sex trafficking in Rome. I will participate in this panel alongside a Roman Catholic bishop, a police commander in charge of public order, a government official in charge of social issues, and the director of social services for women exiting prostitution. We are each given 10 minutes to present our work to an audience of 400, then field questions. Of course, I will take this opportunity to convey our biblically-rooted vision and values and to express our Gospel-based motivation in confronting sex trafficking. We can assume that evangelical faith is unknown to most in the audience; it is really outside of people's experience to hear from those of us who engage with social issues in obedience to Scripture, and personal belief in God's compassion and righteousness, and that the Good News is the only truth that can transform lives. I am asking for your prayers to cover this event and to cover me: this Sunday April 6, from 3-6 pm Europe Time. We believe that God hears and answers prayer in Jesus' Name. Your prayers can make a difference!
